MQM announces ‘mourning day’ on Sunday
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Saturday announced to observe ‘mourning day’ on Sunday against killing of its party workers.
This was announced by MQM deputy convener Dr Farooq Sattar while addressing a press conference in Karachi.
Dr. Farooq Sattar said that 100 workers of the party have been killed in the last four months. He said that government is trying the patience of the MQM adding that targeted killings in Karachi will not be tolerated.
Farooq Sattar said that the MQM wants peace in the city and that the target killings should be stopped.
Earlier former MQM MPA Liaquat Qureshi was laid to rest in Karachi on Saturday.
Qureshi was gunned down at Abul Hassan Asfahani Road, Karachi.
The victim was a member of provincial government back in 1997. MQM leader Altaf Hussain expressed great grief over his death.
