25 killed in Faisalabad blast

At least 25 people died and more than ninety injured in a huge explosion outside the office of sensitive agency near a gas refill station in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

According to reports, dozens of cars were damaged and building of the CNG station was razed to the ground when a bomb in a car exploded with a big bang near a CNG station on Mall Road in Faisalabad.

The CNG station was destroyed while nearby buildings including PIA office were damaged in the blast and windows in nearby houses were smashed by flying debris.

25 people died and 100 injured in the blast. The injured were shifted to Civil hospital while emergency was declared in other hospitals of the city. Police have cordoned off the area immediately after the blast.

Abid Sher Ali, leader of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) said that the explosives were planted in a vehicle parked at the gas station.

Police have arrested a man on suspicion from the blast site.

Faisalabad police chief Aftab Cheema said that 25 people have lost their lives and 100 were injured in the blast.

"This was a terrorist activity," he said.
