Shahbaz Bhatti laid to rest
Slain Federal Minister for Minorities Affairs Shahbaz Bhatti was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in a suburban village on Friday evening, amidst tears and sobs from a multitude of grieving supporters.
Earlier the body of Shahbaz Bhatti, who was gunned down in the federal capital on Wednesday, was brought to his ancestral Chak No 51-GB Khushpur village, Sammundri, by a helicopter here on Friday noon.
Bishop of Lahore Dr Alexander John Malik, Bishop Samuel Azraya, Bishop Jan Samuel, Bishop Joseph Coutts, Bishop Andrew Frances, Father Khalid Rasheed Asi, Father Andrew Nasara, Father Parvez Emanuel, Father Anjum Nazeer, Bishop Robin Anthony and Bishop Laurence received the body and performed funeral rites in Saint Dominic Girls High School Khushpur.
A large number of Christians belonging to Faisalabad and adjacent areas thronged Chak No 51-GB and attended the funeral.
