At least 11 people were killed and 71 injured in a suicide blast on Tuesday in Lahore.

The bomber blew himself up when policemen tried to stop him at a check point. The bombing took place on the occasion of Hazrat Hussain’s (RA) Chehlum procession as a result 11 people were killed including police men and 71 sustained injuries.

Injured were shifted to the Mayo Hospital while Rescue and relief activities have been initiated at the site of the blast.

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanah Ullah confirmed that it was suicide blast.

The bomber is reported to have been 15 years of age.
