PM approves artificial limb centre for Lahore
Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Thursday approved establishment of an Artificial Limb Centre in Lahore.
The Prime Minister gave the approval in a meeting with the Federal Minister for Social Welfare and Special Education, Samina Khalid Ghurki at Prime Minister's House.
Gilani said the welfare of the neglected, disadvantaged and underprivileged is priority of his Government.
He said the government had launched a number of schemes like Benazir Income Support Programme, child support Programme and Bait- ul-Mal stipends for the poor students to help the downtrodden of our society.
The Prime Minister mentioned that PML (N) which is a second major national party has also stressed in their 10 points agenda to focus on relief to the common man.
He added that political consensus have evolved among all the political parties and the Government will make further concerted efforts to launch schemes which will provide relief to the common man particularly the disadvantaged ones.
The Federal Minister also discussed schemes for establishment of more dialysis centres in the country. She apprised the Prime Minister that funds for establishment of Artificial Limb Centre are already available.
