Amla, Kallis power South Africa 230 ahead
Hashim Amla and Jacques Kallis both made unbeaten centuries Friday to lead South Africa to a comfortable lead on day two of the first test at Centurion.
Amla was 116 not out and Kallis 102 not out at stumps, powering the home team to 366-2 and 230 ahead at SuperSport Park after it had bowled out top-ranked India for 136 in its first innings.
Kallis reached his 38th test hundred off 130 balls with nine fours and three sixes.
Amla's 12th test ton and fifth vs. India continued a stunning run in which the right-hander has scored 253 not out, 114, 123 not out and now 116 not out in his last four innings against the Indians.
Harbhajan Singh (2-107) was the only India bowler to have any success on day two.
