Wicketkeeper Adnan Akmal, brother of Kamran and Umar Akmal, has been added to the national squad for the two-Test series against South Africa, along with allrounder Mohammad Hafeez.

Adnan comes in as a replacement for Zulqarnain Haider. Hafeez has been retained from the limited-overs leg of the tour following the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) decision to refuse Danish Kaneria clearance to join the team.

Adnan made his first-class debut in 2003-04. Currently, he plays for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited in the domestic Quaid-e-Azam tournament.
