Pakistan elect to bat against Proteas

Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi won the toss and elected to bat first against South Africa in first one-day match in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Captains of both teams Shahid Afridi and Graeme Smith urged their teams to keep focus.

Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi said that the team will miss the three temporarily suspended players.

"There is no doubt that they are our key players and we are going to miss them, but we have plenty of talent and we will try our best to overcome that loss because World Cup is so close," said Afridi.

"We batted poorly in both the games, but we are a good one-day side and if we play to our potential we can beat South Africa," Afridi said.

Afridi said players were focused and will not let the team down.
