Three US soldiers killed in south of Baghdad
A roadside bomb killed three US soldiers as they patrolled in a vehicle south of Baghdad, the US-led coalition in Iraq announced on Sunday.
"Three Multinational Division Baghdad Soldiers were killed at approximately 11:00 am Saturday when the vehicle they were riding in was struck by an improvised explosive device south of Baghdad," a statement said.
Earlier, the military had announced the death of a marine who also died on Saturday after being wounded in fighting in Anbar province of western Iraq.
The deaths being the number of US military personnel in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to 2,759, according an AFP count based on Pentagon figures.
