Two Afghan policeman wounded in attack on German convoy
Two Afghan policemen were wounded, one of them seriously, in an attack overnight on a German military convoy near Kundus in northern Afghanistan, the German defence ministry said on Monday.
"One policeman was seriously injured, and one lightly. No German soldiers were hurt in the ambush," defence spokesman Thomas Raabe told reporters.
He said the attackers fired at three German vehicles using Russian anti-tank weaponry.
Germany is commanding NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in northern Afghanistan. The south of the country is facing a renewed Taliban insurgency.
