Textile sector exempted from loadshedding
Textile industry, the main export sector and largest manufacturing employer of the country, has been exempted from loadshedding.
This was stated by Director General Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) Mohammad Khalid while talking to a private news channel on Tuesday.
The sector was suffering four-hour daily load-shedding and after the adoption of energy conservation plan, textile industry is being provided uninterrupted power supply, the DG added.
Commending PEPCO's announcement Ejaz Gohar, Chairman, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (Punjab Zone) said, "We were demanding uninterrupted supply since long."
Now, the sector would be able to meet the targets, he added.
