Gilani vows to carry forward Bhuttos mission
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Tuesday vowed to carry forward the mission of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and ensure that the working class of the country and its deprived sections would get their due share.
Inaugurating a 100-unit Labour Housing colony here, Gilani said the government was committed to transforming the lives of the people of the country by providing them their rights. He said Pakistan People’s Party was not merely a political party, but an ideology aimed at empowering the masses. He said the party was committed to missions of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.
Gilani promised to announce a labour policy soon that would comprehensively address their issues and improve the working conditions besides giving them the due status.
Gilani, who is in Gwadar along with his cabinet to chair its meeting and sign the historic National Finance Commission award on Wednesday, said the objective was to highlight the importance of the province and the Gwadar port.
He said the port would serve as a gateway for the world to Pakistan and the Central Asian Republics and China and boost the national economy but also revolutionize the lives of the people of Balochistan.
Gilani, earlier, unveiled the plaque to inaugurate the Labour colony and handed over allotment letters to the workers. He also visited some units, constructed by the Ministry of Labour through the Workers Welfare Fund.
