UN to launch Welcome Back School project in Swat, Buner
The United Nations (UN) has announced the launch of the ‘Welcome Back School’ project in Swat, Dir and Buner, Aaj News reported on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference here, representatives of the UN stated that the welcome back school project was being launched in the place of schools destroyed by militants in these areas.
They said that the restoration of the infrastructure in Malakand would take more than 18 months, adding the eight centres to distribute food amongst the war-hit areas have been set up.
The UN representatives further said that more than 81,000 people from Waziristan had migrated to Tank, Dera Ismail Khan and other areas.
