A meeting of the special committee of Awami National Party (ANP), held to review deteriorating law and order situation, has expressed satisfaction over ongoing talks between government and Taliban and agrees on continuing the process.
The meeting was held at Frontier House with central president of the party, Asfandyar Wali Khan in the chair, said a press release of the party issued here on Saturday.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Minister NWFP, Amir Haider Hoti. While provincial president of ANP, Afrasiab Khattak, President ANP Balochistan, Commander Khudai Dad and others were also present on the occasion.
The meeting decided to revive Peace and Defence committee of the party for tacking the situation.
The meeting termed the poor law and order situation in the province as fallout of wrong policies of previous government.
The participants of the meeting observed that the proposals of ANP to remove hypocrisy from Afghan Policy and introduction of reforms for political stability in Fata were not given due consideration as a result of which law and order situation deteriorated.
The Peace and Defence committee of ANP would be headed by a party leader, Imram Afridi.
The special committee, after thoroughly reviewing prevailing circumstances in the country including economic and other difficulties facing by masses, declared the policy of the party as right for supremacy of constitution and setting up of a federal democratic system in the country.
The meeting participants stressed upon the elected representatives of the party to ensure close liaison with general public and taken emergent measures for resolution of problems faced by masses.
During the meeting, suggestions were also presented for providing relief to masses from load shedding, flour crisis, increasing price hike.
The meeting also stressed for implementation on recommendation made by Loya Jirga held in Kabul last year.
