A second person has died following the collapse of a stage being set up for a Madonna concert in the French port city of Marseille, hospitals officials said on Friday.
According to city officials, the victim is thought to be a 32-year-old British man, who had been in intensive care in a neurosurgery ward in Marseille since the accident on Thursday.
A 53-year-old Frenchman was killed on the spot when the giant structure collapsed during the set-up for the Sunday concert, which was cancelled in the wake of the disaster.
Eight other people were seriously hurt, including an American who was hospitalised in a life-threatening condition, while 36 people suffered minor injuries and shock.
