The intrusion at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence started in the room of his and his wife Kareena Kapoor’s sons, Taimur and Jehangir, Filmfare reported.
The security guard of the building stated that he “did not see any unknown person” entering the premises.
Saif’s team shared that the actor was helping his family down the stairs when the incident happened.
The actor intervened to protect his loved ones, positioning himself between them and the intruder.
In an official statement, Lilavati Hospital Chief Operating Officer Dr Niraj Uttamani confirmed that Khan was stabbed by an unidentified intruder at his Bandra residence and was admitted to the hospital at 3:30am.
The actor suffered six stab wounds, “two of which are serious,” with one perilously close to his spine, according to police.

Khan’s children Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan also visited the Lilavati Hospital.
“There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation,” the Pataudi family said in a statement.
