A female police officer in Islamabad’s Bhara Kahu area has been suspended following an assault on a motorbike delivery rider. The incident sparked outrage after the rider, identified as Aijaz, alleged he was beaten by the officers for a late delivery.

According to Aijaz, his phone was switched off, causing a delay in delivering the parcel. Upon arrival, he claims the female officers verbally abused him, physically assaulted him, and slapped him repeatedly.

He further stated that despite calling the emergency number 15, police did not respond to his call for help.

The incident resulted in Aijaz sustaining serious injuries. Police sources confirmed that the Inspector General of Islamabad Police took immediate notice of the incident and suspended the officers involved.

A two-officer committee has been formed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. The investigation is ongoing.
