Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi, wife of Imran Khan, have remained in Mansehra since Tuesday night. After departing Islamabad on Tuesday, they spent the night at the Circuit House in Mansehra.
While a press conference was announced for Wednesday morning, Bushra Bibi did not attend. Gandapur and Omar Ayub addressed the press conference, after which reports surfaced that the Chief Minister had departed for Peshawar by helicopter, while Bushra Bibi remained in Mansehra.
However, it has since emerged that Gandapur also remained in Mansehra, with both PTI leaders staying there for two days. Sources indicate that the helicopter sent from Peshawar is still in Mansehra.
Reports on Wednesday claimed that Bushra Bibi refused to share a helicopter with Gandapur and demanded a separate one. These reports gained traction after Bushra Bibi’s sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo, alleged that Bushra Bibi was taken to Mansehra against her will and that she did not want to leave Islamabad.
Wattoo even claimed Bushra Bibi was under unlawful confinement and prevented from contacting her family. However, Wattoo later confirmed that she had spoken to Bushra Bibi.
Social media speculation suggests that both Gandapur and Bushra Bibi are hesitant to face party workers, hence avoiding travel to Peshawar. Sources told Aaj News that the two leaders are holding party meetings in Mansehra to plan future strategy, choosing Mansehra due to its proximity to Islamabad.
