The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has initiated a plan to target unregistered wealthy individuals, including non-filers and those declaring zero income.
This move comes after a directive from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The FBR has prepared to implement this enforcement strategy within its field formations.
In the first phase, notices will be sent to 5,000 identified non-filers, who collectively owe an estimated Rs7 billion in taxes.
These individuals have been selected based on a thorough analysis of transaction data for around 200,000 non-filers.
