Naeema Butt, known for her negative role in the hit drama Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum, has faced criticism on social media after she shared her career choices in a recent interview.
The actress, who rose to fame alongside Fahad Mustafa and Hania Aamir, appeared on a private TV show where she discussed her character and various other topics.
Butt revealed that her mother, a doctor, had hoped she would pursue a medical career. But Naeema admitted to having no interest in medicine. Although she completed pre-medical studies in high school, she chose not to take the medical entry test, as she did not want to follow that path.
Naeema then transitioned to showbiz after enrolling in mass communication.
Following a viral clip from the interview, users criticised her for seemingly avoiding the challenging medical entry test, suggesting that she “didn’t adequately prepare” for it.
Some users even questioned the authenticity of her story, arguing that if her mother truly wanted her to become a doctor, she would have been more insistent.
Before her notable role in Kabhi Mein Kabhi Tum, Naeema appeared in dramas like Ehd-e-Wafa, Daasi, and Main Khwab Bunti Hoon, but it was her recent performance that brought her significant recognition.
The finale of the drama was screened in cinemas, showcasing the positive aspects of Mustafa and Sharjeena’s life and marriage. The drama received a warm reception not only in Pakistan but also in neighboring countries.
