Starting November 1, Dubai residents and Emirati sponsors who have not violated residency laws in the past 10 years will receive “special privileges,” as announced by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai on Tuesday.
The initiative, called ‘Ideal Face,’ aims to recognize individuals who adhere to UAE residency regulations. According to GDRFA, these individuals exemplify the “Ideal Face” of Dubai through their commitment to following the law.

These privileges are applicable only to individuals, not to establishments. To qualify, individuals must be a UAE citizen or a foreign resident, have resided in Dubai for at least 10 years, be a sponsor of one or more individuals who have not violated residency laws in the past 10 years and the sponsor must not have any recorded residency violations in the current year.
GDRFA emphasized that the initiative “provides all community members with the opportunity to contribute to social security and safety by pledging to adhere to UAE residency laws.”
Lt-Gen Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, director-general of GDRFA, stated, “Security and safety are essential for realizing the UAE’s vision of a happy and sustainable society. The ‘Ideal Face’ initiative highlights individuals who comply with the laws and represent the bright image of the UAE. It also encourages everyone to adopt positive behaviors that contribute to stability and security.”
GDRFA invites all citizens, residents, and visitors to participate in the initiative by committing to uphold residency laws.
