OpenAI has unveiled ChatGPT Canvas, a new interactive tool designed to facilitate collaborative writing and coding projects.
Currently in beta, this feature is available to ChatGPT Plus and Team users, with plans for future rollout to Enterprise, Education, and Free users.
ChatGPT Canvas operates in a separate window, allowing users to work closely with the AI on their projects rather than just exchanging messages. This new interface supports various tasks, such as writing stories, editing documents, and debugging code, making it easier to refine and improve work in real-time.
Built with the GPT-4o model, Canvas offers several user-friendly features. For writers, it provides shortcuts for suggesting edits, adjusting text length, changing reading levels, and adding emojis.
For coding tasks, it assists with code reviews, debugging, and translating code between programming languages.
The Canvas interface enables users to highlight specific sections for targeted feedback from ChatGPT, acting like a collaborative assistant.
Users can also directly edit text or code while receiving real-time suggestions, enhancing the overall creative process.
