The 15-day ultimatum issued by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has expired without any progress.
The deadline, set by Gandapur on September 8th during a rally in Islamabad, was met with a pledge from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to secure Khan’s release within the timeframe.
However, the former Prime Minister remains in custody.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Information Minister Barrister Saif had previously stated that the government was working diligently to ensure Khan’s release.

The ultimatum was met with skepticism from some, with some analysts suggesting that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government lacked the authority to force the federal government to release Khan.
Federal Ministers Khawaja Asif and Atta Tarar repeatedly chided Gandapur over his ‘deadline’, daring him to turn words into actions.
Meanwhile, Gandapur has announced that the PTI will begin a countrywide protest from Friday.
