A new spell of monsoon rain has begun in Islamabad, bringing heavy downpours accompanied by strong winds and thunder, making the weather pleasant.
Dense clouds have settled over the capital late at night, and cool breezes were blowing.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), on Saturday (today), there is a possibility of heavy rain with strong winds and thunder in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Islamabad, northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Meanwhile, the weather in other parts of the country is expected to remain hot and dry.
In Lahore, both light and heavy rain have also made the weather more enjoyable.
Heavy falls may occur at isolated places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Potohar region during the period. PMD reported that hot and dry weather is likely in other parts of the country.
Moisture-laden currents from the Arabian Sea are moving into the northern regions of the country, while a westerly wave is impacting these areas as well.
