New drug charges filed against Karachi Karasaz road accident suspect

The woman driver suspect in the Karachi Karsaz road accident has been charged under the Prohibition of Narcotic Substances Act, with police granted permission to investigate her for drug-related offences.

The first information report stated that the suspect was under the influence of ice (methamphetamine) at the time of the accident.

The investigative officer sought permission to interrogate Natasha, who is currently in jail on judicial remand for the main case. Following a medical report, a new case was registered against her under the Prohibition of Narcotic Substances Act.

This new charge has been filed under FIR, citing Section 11 of the Prohibition of Narcotic Substances Act against the suspect. According to the FIR, filed by Sub-Inspector Rehan Khan, the driver was intoxicated during the incident. Medical tests confirmed her drug use, with blood and urine samples sent to the laboratory returning positive for methamphetamine.

Methamphetamine is commonly known as ice, highlighting the serious implications of her alleged drug use during the accident.

At least two people, including a woman, were killed and seven injured when the woman driver of a car lost control and struck several vehicles at Karachi’s Karsaz Road on August 19.

The suspect was identified as Natasha Iqbal. Earlier this week, a city court sent her to jail on a 14-day judicial remand over allegedly killing two people in the accident.
