PIA flight to Skardu threatened by technical fault

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Islamabad to Skardu experienced a technical problem shortly after takeoff, leading to a diversion and delay.

The PIA flight, carrying approximately 100 passengers including Member of the National Assembly Nawabzada Mir Jamal Raisiani and the Gilgit-Baltistan Minister, took off from Islamabad airport at 10:50 am. About an hour into the flight, the pilot reported a technical fault with the aircraft.

The pilot announced the plane would return to land in Islamabad due to the technical issue.

A few minutes later, the pilot stated the problem had been resolved and diverted the flight back to its original destination of Skardu.

The plane landed safely at Skardu airport at 11:45 am, about 50 minutes behind schedule.

PIA officials have not provided details on the exact nature of the technical problem that prompted the pilot’s initial decision to return to Islamabad.
