Police in Okara have apprehended seven individuals armed with a significant amount of weapons near a church on GT Road.
The suspects were traveling in a Vigo van and were apprehended after displaying their weapons publicly. The arrest were made by B Division’s police station.
According to police sources, the suspects were spotted driving around with government-issued lights on their vehicle and filming videos while brandishing their weapons. When police requested their weapon licenses or permits, they were unable to produce any. The Vigo truck and the suspects were subsequently taken into custody.
A search of the suspects yielded five Kalashnikov rifles, one pistol, and ammunition. The arrested individuals include Zafar Iqbal, Sanaullah, Imran, Zubair, Ijaz Ahmed, Ameer and others.
A case has been registered against the suspects under the supervision of ASI Muhammad Azhar Khan of B Division Police Station. Police are conducting further investigations.
The police have stated that they will not tolerate any violations of the law and that the suspects will be punished severely.
