Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced increase in salary and pensions for government employees in the budget 2024-25 on Wednesday.
The minimum wage has also been raised to Rs37,000.
In addition, the salaries of govt employees from grades 1-16 have been raised by 25% while salaries for grades 17-22 have been raised by 20%.
In addition, the pensions of government employees have been raised by 15%.
Earlier, the federal government had approved upto 25% increase in salaries.
The approval came just minutes before the budget was presented in the assembly.
This move is seen as a significant step by the government to address the concerns of its employees and pensioners, particularly in the wake of the rising cost of living in the country.
