The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has made a major decision stating that members of parliament will not be arrested at the inquiry level.
This decision was made after a recent meeting between the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of NAB was held.
NAB has requested the Speaker of the National Assembly to provide legal assistance in giving a statutory shape to the decision.
NAB has clarified that only complaints and allegations against parliament members will not lead to their arrest, and in case of any complaint against a member of parliament, the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate will be informed.
NAB has conducted a thorough investigation to ensure that parliamentary members or politicians are not targeted for revenge based solely on allegations.
