Aitchison College Principal Michael Thomson’s resignation was accepted by the institutions’s board on Friday.
The acceptance of the resignation ends the long saga that began with Thomson’s widely publicised resignation over political interference.
The board has appointed Amna Kamran as acting principal of the college.
The meeting that accepted the resignation also finalised a policy of fee waivers that led to Thomson’s resignation.
A fee waiver of 50% has been granted to to students from junior and prep classes. The waiver will also be given to students who memorise the Holy Quran.
However, the board has decided that no fee waivers will be granted to students in the senior school.
