Hundreds of people turned up at the funeral of a woman who died just hours after embracing Islam in the United Arab Emirates.
Daria Kotsarenko, 29, died of a heart attack on Friday. She was fasting when she passed away.
Kotsarenko was a Christian when she arrived in Dubai from Ukraine some months ago.
Although she originally came to UAE as a tourist, she also started looking for work with possible plans of settling down. It was during this time that she found Islam and embraced it.
However, her journey as a Muslim was short-lived as she passed away from a heart attack soon after.
Her funeral prayers were organised at the Al Qusais cemetery in UAE, with hundreds of people turning up to attend.
Photos of her massive funeral also went viral on social media.
The woman has no family members or relatives living in Dubai, Khaleej Times reported.
Ramadan is considered one of the holiest months in the year by Muslims, who fast every day from dawn till dusk for spiritual cleansing. Fasting is also aimed at promoting a sense of social responsibility and empathy in Muslims.
