Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has approached the Islamabad High Court for permission to hold a rally in the capital on March 23.
The request was filed through Aamir Mughal and Sher Afzal Marwat and maintained that the party has already approached the Islamabad administration twice on March 15 and 18 for permission but has not received any response.
The party also backed its claim for the rally’s permission by saying that it has organised three protests against electoral rigging in the capital and all events were peaceful.
PTI is hoping to get permission to hold a rally in the F9 park or at D-Chowk at 10pm.
The party’s petition has made Islamabad’s police authorities, deputy commissioner and interior secretaries parties in the petition.
The petition has also asked the court to ensure that roads are not blocked on March 23 and citizens are not arrested for trying to participate in the protest.
