Journalist Asad Toor has been arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency, his lawyer said on Monday.
Lawyer Imaan Mazari posted on X on Monday that Toor was arrested by FIA officials after being detained in the Agency’s headquarters for hours.
She also said that the office had been locked and lights switched off. Toor spent over four hours in the office.
He was summoned by the FIA’s cyber crime wing for a second time on Monday on charges related to defamation of judges of the Supreme Court.
However, he claimed that he had not been told about any allegations and had been asked to answer a questionnaire.
Journalist Imran Riaz Khan has already been arrested by the FIA in connection with the same case. He was arrested a sday before he was set to appear in FIA Lahore.
