The United States dollar began Tuesday by depreciating Rs0.04 against the Pakistani rupee.
The change took the US dollar’s value to Rs279.60 in the interbank market.
On Monday, the dollar had gained five paisas to go from Rs279.59 to Rs279.64, a change of 0.02%.
The State Bank of Pakistan has announced its decision to introduce new currency notes amid increasing complaints of fake currency notes.
“Complaints related to fake currency notes have increased,” SBP Governor Jameel Ahmed said during an informal conversation with reporters after addressing a press conference in Karachi on Monday.
