A Pakistani man and his daughter died in Sharjah when a fire erupted in their house on Thursday. The man’s wife and two other children are being treated in a hospital.
Faisal Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE, said the deceased, identified as Imran Khan, was living in Sharjah with his wife and three children.
After a fire broke out in their apartment, Khan along with his daughter died due to suffocation.
His wife and two children are currently undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Al Qassimi Hospital in Sharjah.
Pakistani nationals are considered the second-largest expat community in the UAE, with 1.7 million people. They play a significant role in boosting the country’s economy and are major contributors to their home country’s remittances.

Tirmizi stated that Pakistan’s General Consulate in Dubai is in contact with the company where the deceased was working. The company has assured maximum support and assistance to the victim’s family.
However, the cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
