Indian man impersonates girlfriend to clear her recruitment test

A man in India’s Punjab state was caught allegedly impersonating his girlfriend during a recruitment examination, The Indian Express reported.

According to police, the suspect identified as Angrez Singh of Fazilka district entered the examination hall having shaved off his facial hair, applied makeup and affixed his photo dressed like a girl over his girlfriend Paramjeet Kaur’s photo.

The examination was held by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences on January 7 at DAV Public School in Kotkapura for the post of female multipurpose health worker.

A police official said that the “candidate” managed to entre the examination hall with the fabricated documents, however, the officials got suspicious as the picture of Kaur on the application form was not matching with the face of the candidate in question.

He even donned a bindi, lipstick and ladies’ suit along with a fake Aadhaar card, voter card and I card made in the name of Kaur, he added.

Angrej Singh, 26, was a resident of Saharan Nagar in Fazilka and Paramjeet Kaur, 34, hailed from Dhani Munshi Ram village in the same district.

It is pertinent to mention that Kaur had failed in the exam in her last attempt.

Singh was arrested for a brief period and was later released bail while the police initiated investigations in the matter.

During the initial interrogation, Singh said the Kaur was a relative, however, it was found out they were not relatives.
