Indian woman, who went to Pakistan to marry her Facebook friend in July this year, has met with her two children after spending five months in the South Asian country, Indian media reported.
Anju, a 35-year-old woman, married her Pakistani lover Nasrullah from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Upper Dir on July 25, 2023. The cross border love, followed by Seema Haider’s case, sparked reaction from people living in both sides of the border.
She had converted to Islam to marry her social media friend. She was gifted a piece of land and money by a housing company in the country after her marriage.
Last month, she returned to her home country. But this month India media claimed that after being interrogated by Punjab police and the Intelligence Bureau, Anju was allowed to go to her home town Rajasthan’s Bhiwadi city. But she did not reach there.
“I have returned to India for my children and finally I have met them. Both my kids are happy and we are spending good time together,” she told Indian media last week.
Anju added that she would search for job after finding “stability”, however, she was focused on being with her children.
She claimed that her Pakistani husband Nasrullah was planning to visit India soon. “Nasrullah showed me Pakistan and I too want to show him India,” Anju said.
“The further legal process will be undertaken later. All my documents are at my address in Bhilwara. Therefore, I will have to go to Bhilwara. However, for now, I want to dedicate my entire time to my children,” she said when asked about her divorce with Arvind.
