Microsoft has launched a dedicated app for its AI-powered Copilot platform in the Google Play Store for Android.
The new app offers access to Microsoft’s Copilot without the need for the Bing mobile app. However, the company has not launched an iOS version yet.
AI Copilot supports users in various tasks including the capability to gain insights, automate tasks, and understand, analyse and process vast amounts of data.
Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a new AI-powered version of its Bing search engine integrating a ChatGPT-like interface directly into its search results.
Later, it moved to drop the Bing Chat branding and adopted Copilot which deploys a similar interface to that of ChatGPT.
The Copilot app gives access to chatbot capabilities, image generation, and draft text for emails and documents, The Verge reported.
Additionally, it will also give free access to OpenAI’s latest GPT-4 model, it added.
In March, the company unveiled its plans to put artificial intelligence into the hands of more users, answering a spate of unveilings this week by its rival Google with upgrades to its own widely used office software.
The technology company previewed a new AI “Copilot” for Microsoft 365, its product suite that includes Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations and Outlook emails. First open to some 20 enterprises for testing, AI offered a draft in these applications, speeding up content creation and freeing up workers’ time, Microsoft said.
