Islamabad Police said on Thursday that 300 people including five women were protested from the Baloch Solidarity Committee long march on Wendesday night.
In a special report issued on Thursday, the police said that 14 protestors had received minor injuries during the clashes and three police officials were also injured.
The report added that approximately 250 protestors arrived at the Peshawar Toll Plaza at 5pm on Wednesday where Islamabad’s administration tried to negotiate with them. THe report said that the protestors included 12 children and 45 women.
Police said the protestors were given spots in H-9 or F-9 as alternatives but they insisted on proceeding to D-Chowk.
On the other hand, around 250 more protestors reached the National Press Club in F-6 from where 200 ‘muffled’ protestors marched towards the red zone but were pushed back. The press club was also cleared at 3 am.
The report added that around 300 protestors were arrested including five women and no children were arrested. However, a total of 283 (including one woman) was shifted into custody.
The report also praised the officers involved for performing their duty efficiently and dedicatedly.
