Level playing field could lead to ‘surprise’ in elections: Bilawal

Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said on Monday that his party cold deliver a surprise in Punjab if it was given a level playing field.

He added that the PPP would try to deliver what was promised by the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto to the poor people of Punjab.

The former foreign minister said that the country was faced with historical inflation and unemployment and if the PP was elected to power it would try to truly represent the people of the country.

Bilawal said that the PPP had introduced the Benazir Bhutto Income Support Program and he now wanted to issue a card for youth, famers and labourers.

Asked about Asif Zardari’s statement about delivering a surprise in Balochistan, Bilawal said the surprise would be given in the entire country.

He added that the surprise could particularly if the PPP was given a level-playing field in the elections.

Bilawal said that the doors of a political party are always open for dialogue. He said that the political atmosphere in the country was polarised and hyper-partisan which would have to end.

He added that PPP’s workers had stood firm even during dictatorships. He also said the PMLN’s government had been no less than a dictatorship.
