The Counter Terrorism Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday arrested from Kohat a female allegedly involved in extortion cases.
According to the CTD, the suspect identified as Maryam Bibi was a compliance in her father’s extortion network. They alleged that the suspect was also found of making calls from an Afghan cellular network number.
They said that the suspect made extortion calls to two businessmen based in Peshawar and had also left an extortion letter in one instance.
The CTD went on to add that raids were being carried out in Mohmand and Peshawar of KP to arrest the suspect’s father and the extortion network.
Earlier this month, the CTD said that as many as 51 women have been suspected of involvement in several crimes including terrorism in the last nine years in the province.
The CTD list, available with Aaj News, showed that the women were accused of crimes including terrorism, kidnapping, target killing, extortion, and terror financing since 2014.
