Imran to receive ‘historic’ welcome at court hearing, lawyer says

A day after a special court issued orders to produce Imran Khan in person, his lawyer told the media that the former prime minister would receive a ‘historic’ welcome.

Speaking outside the Islamabad High Court on Friday, Barrister Gohar Ali said that the government would not be able to shift Khan at night since he had been summoned to court.

He added that Khan would be welcomed at every point of the journey and will receive a historic welcome at the court.

After the Islamabad High Court annulled the jail trial in the cipher case, the special court had ordered Imran Khan to be produced in court on November 28.

Since his arrest on August 5, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman has not been brought to court for a single public hearing.

His only public appearance since was when he was moved from Attock Jail to Adiala Jail late at night on the orders of the Islamabad High Court.
