Indian actress and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt shared her sympathies with children of Gaza amid the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.
The Chaahat movie star, with a broken heart emoji, shared on X a poem of Palestinian writer and poet Khaled Juma calling for children of Gaza to come back.
At least 4,104 children were among the 10,022 Palestinians killed in Israeli strikes on Gaza since October 7.
While some praised her support for the children, the post did not sit well with many Indian users as they accused her of having double standards while others claimed she did it to get attention.
“No word had ever come out of your mouth for the Kashmiri pundits and here you are talking about saving Gaza,” Avinash, an Indian commentator wrote on X.
There is no expectation from the people in Bollywood, he added.
“What are you doing here? Go, reach Gaza,” Jagdish m Khunt wrote.
Spandan, another X commentator, said that people like Bhatt cry for Palestine kids’ death but ignore Israel babies.
“These are the hypocrites who get exposed when these type of msg posts,” he wrote.
“Aren’t u going with vases to Gaza to blow dil dil Gaza aaja aaja aaja,” an account with the username beyorek, wrote.
Bittu Kumar, while referring to Juma’s poem, said that the poem was old and shared an edited poem changing Gaza with Israel.
Pooja Singh, another Indian commentator offered to take and leave Bhatt in Gaza.
Vinod Sharma called the Indian actress hypocrite for penning a message for the Gaza children.
“When no one values them they try to do these things to get the attention,” he wrote.
