The caretaker government has decided to keep the petrol and diesel prices unchanged which stand at Rs283.38 and Rs303.18 respectively, following a fortnightly revision.
But the kerosene oil rate was decreased by Rs3.82 to reach Rs211.03 and light-diesel oil by Rs3.04 to reach Rs189.46.
Earlier, there were reports that the government could decrease the petrol rates by Rs15-20 while the price of diesel could be decreased by Rs10-16.
The reports added that the fall in the price of oil in the international market has increased the chances of relief being provided to consumers in Pakistan.
Last month, the interim government decreased the petrol price by Rs40 and diesel by Rs15 owing to the decreasing trend of petroleum prices in the international market and due to the appreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.
