Ali Zafar says ‘Maza Aya’ won’t have been possible without fans

Singer-cum-actor Ali Zafar has thanked his fans for motivating him to make an anthem for the ICC Men’s 50-over World Cup in just three days.

“On a serious note: I just wanna say, hamesha ki tarha aap sab ke pyaar ka bohat maza aaya [like always enjoyed your love],” he said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday.

Zafar released a song Maza Aya on X on Saturday for the World Cup. The three-minute video showed the Teefa in Trouble actor wearing four different jackets while performing the song.

The song was made on his fans’ demand after they expressed their dismay over the ICC World Cup 2023 official anthem titled Dil Jashn Bole.

“I don’t know how these things happen miraculously, but all I know is that with LOVE and BELIEF and the right INTENTION we can all achieve anything,” he said.

According to Zafar, the song was made in three steps. All the beat makers had sent him beats, followed by lyrics, and the tune. He had asked his fans to send him all the ideas on social media from where he would pick the “best one”.

While making the announcement in a video, he said it would be the “first time” in history that the people would be creating an anthem for themselves.

A day after the release, Zafar said: “This would not have been possible without your motivation and support specially with a broken back and only 3 days to sing, mix and master, conceive, choreograph, dance, shoot, edit, grade and deliver the music video. Credit goes to YOU. So THANK U once again!”
