The police in Punjab have arrested a man who exhumed bodies of children and placed them at a distance of 10 to 15 yards from the grave.
The suspect identified as Mani, a resident of Lahore, said in a confession to the police that he had removed the bodies of five children from their graves, as he opposes the act of child burial.
According to the police the accused after taking out the bodies from the burying place informed the relatives of the dead on his own, and it appears that the accused was mentally ill.
After registering the first information report against the accused under section 297 (Trespassing on burial places, etc.) of the Pakistan penal code, police have begun an investigation into the matter.
