The Pakistan Army has launched the first agriculture project under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to make barren lands cultivable in South Waziristan.
The pilot project launched in the Zarmalan district of South Waziristan will see 1,000 acres of barren land made suitable for cultivation.
The Pak Army plans to make another 44,000 acres of land cultivable through this project which will help improve the economy of farmers and control malnutrition in the area.
The people of the area thanked the Pakistan Army for the completion of the pilot project saying that it would promote farming, while also creating new employment opportunities.
