The caretaker government has set up task force for tax reform and appointed caretaker Finance Minister Dr Shamshad Akhtar as the chairperson.

The notification said that Arshad Saleem Tariq, Member of FBR, has been appointed as the Secretary of the Tax Reforms Task Force.

According to the notification, Dr. Manzoor, Dr. Musharraf, Amanullah Ameer, Amir Ejaz, along with Khalid Mahmood and Chairman FBR are included in the task force.

The task force will suggest measures to increase tax revenue, remove loopholes in the tax system and eliminate tax evasion, while the task force will also come up with strategies to eliminate smuggling through short-term and long-term strategies.
