English actor Russell Brand accused of rape, sexual assaults

English actor Russell Brand has been accused of rape, sexual assaults, and emotional abuse during a seven-year period, from 2006 to 2013, at the height of his fame.

The allegations were reported after a joint investigation by Sunday Times, The Times, and Channel 4 Dispatches.

Four women alleged sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013. Brand has refuted the allegations and said his relationships have been “always consensual”.

Four women alleged sexual assaults between 2006 and 2013. Brand has denied the allegations and said his relationships have been “always consensual”.

The allegations pertain to when Bran was working in the mainstream media. He was a presenter for BBC Radio 2, Channel 4, and an actor in Hollywood films.

Other claims related to Brand’s alleged controlling, abusive and predatory behaviour.

But hours before the report, Brand released a video on Friday in which he denied allegations that he described as “serious criminal”.

He is married to Laura Brand. Previously he was married to singer Katy Perry.

The actor said he had received letters from a TV company and newspaper, containing “a litany” of “aggressive attacks”.

“Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute,” he said in the video, posted on YouTube and X, formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday.

But he did not name the TV and newspaper in more than two-minute video, which has garnered 24 million views on X.

“These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time when I was in the movies, and as I’ve written about extensively in my books I was very, very promiscuous. Now during that time of promiscuity, the relationships I had were absolutely, always consensual.”

Brand claimed that he was the subject of a “co-ordinated attack”.
