Former Planning and Development minister and PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal has announced a full FSC scholarship for a female student who was subjected to rape.
In a post of X, Iqbal said that the victim, Hafsa Yaqoob had secured more than 1,000 marks in her matriculation exams. She was given a scholarship for FSC in the medical field by the principal of Narowal Public School and College, he added.
“Her grieved mother came to me and said that her daughter was raped by a vile person. He told her daughter that he has done this to many women but none of them opened their mouths,” he wrote on X.
Iqbal said that the man threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about the rape incident.
“I went to the woman’s house and called the police to protect them and leave no stone unturned to arrest this beast. Alhamdulillah, due to the hard work of the police, he was caught,” the PML-N leader wrote.
A grand ceremony was held today to pay tribute to the brave mother and daughter who taught the lesson that instead of bowing down to evil, it should be punished with the help of the law, Iqbal said.
“The Principal of Narowal Public School announced a full scholarship for FSC Medical for Hafsa to fulfill her dream of becoming a doctor and I promised her further education,” he added.
He was of the view that by standing up to their criminal, the mother and daughter saved the dignity of many girls.
“Tolerating evil causes evil to multiply. If any of the women who were the first victims of this devil had shown courage, this accident would not have happened to Hafsa,” Iqbal stated.
